RecoverReady exists for one reason: to make sure no surgical patient goes home unprepared. Every year, millions of people undergo surgery and return home without a clear plan for what products, supplies, and modifications they need to recover safely and comfortably. Caregivers scramble to find the right items while their loved one is in pain. Essential mobility aids, wound care supplies, and comfort products get overlooked until they are urgently needed.
We built RecoverReady to close that gap. Our surgery-specific checklists, side-by-side product comparisons, and week-by-week recovery timelines give patients and caregivers the confidence to prepare before the hospital sends them home. Everything is free to access, with no account required.
How We Select Product Recommendations
Our product recommendations are developed through a careful, research-based process:
- Medical literature review: We consult published clinical guidelines, post-operative care protocols, and discharge instruction templates from hospitals and medical associations to identify the products that healthcare providers actually recommend.
- Surgeon and therapist input: Our checklists reflect the types of items that orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and surgical nurses commonly advise patients to have on hand.
- Patient experience: We incorporate real-world feedback from patients who have been through recovery, identifying the products that made the biggest difference and the items they wish they had prepared in advance.
- Product research: We compare products based on functionality, safety features, ease of use, and value. We do not promote any specific brand over another. Our Amazon links point to keyword search results so you can compare current options and choose what works best for your situation.
We are committed to honesty and transparency. If a product is not necessary for your specific surgery, we will not include it in the checklist. Our three-tier system (Must-Have, Recommended, Nice-to-Have) helps you prioritize your spending based on genuine need.
